General Summary Of Duties:
Under the direction of the EVS Director, the Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of environmental services operations, to ensure a clean, sanitary and professional appearance of the property. Develops and implements efficient/productive cleaning methods, supervises environmental services and manages administration of training programs, guest experience, and budget administration. Ensures compliance with standards and regulations.

GRAVE SHIFT MANAGER
General Summary Of Duties:
Under the direction of the EVS Director, the Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of environmental services operations, to ensure a clean, sanitary and professional appearance of the property. Develops and implements efficient/productive cleaning methods, supervises environmental services and manages administration of training programs, guest experience, and budget administration. Ensures compliance with standards and regulations.
Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)
- Manages the daily operations of the department.
- Regulates daily activities of team members, providing necessary guidance and support to maintain quality performance standards.
- Supervises environmental services and grounds keeping team members (as applicable) to ensure that work techniques, quality assurance standards, department policies and procedures and job specifications are adhered to.
- Interviews and selects team members and oversees department training and development.
- Administers annual performance reviews.
- Attends department and committee meetings
- Communicates effectively and consistently administrative directives to EVS supervisors and team members.
- Ensures compliance with departmental operations, fire, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintains an inventory list of supplies and equipment in the department.
- Participates and provides input with the fiscal EVS Departmental budget.
- Participates in the development and implementation of all departmental policies and procedures.
- Provides recommendations to Director of any changes in supplies or equipment to improve safety for the staff and patients and/or to reduce departmental costs.
- Provides supervision and scheduling of all supervisors.
- Provides training for all techniques and equipment used in the EVS department.
- Reviews and confers with supervisors the work schedules and assignments of EVS team members.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned/directed
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in order to complete schedules, forecasts, discipline, inventory, etc. and be able communicate with other departments.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to complete budgets, forecasts, and inventories.
- Knowledge of chemicals and cleaning procedures to maintain appearance of property (i.e., brass, marble, chandeliers, etc.).
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to act independently while analyzing data and drawing conclusions from written and computer generated materials.
- Knowledge of public porters operations, to include appropriate staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations. Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- Knowledge of labor law.
- Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Typical physical / mental demands
- Ability to move throughout the Hotel for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to walk/stand and work 50% of shift walking a minimum of 2 miles per shift.
- Ability to sit and work 50% of shift. Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, reach, lift and/or carry, or move records, reports, supplies, etc. weighing a maximum of 10 lbs. to a height of 5 feet on an intermittent basis.
- Typical Working Condition:
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to work in areas with exposure to smoking
Experience Requirements
- 3 years minimum combined experience in environmental services, housekeeping, internal or public area maintenance or related departments.
- 1 years minimum management experience.
- GED/High School diploma
