GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Athletic Director oversees all aspects of the district's athletic program, including planning, staffing, budgeting, compliance, and program development. This role ensures all students have access to extracurricular athletic activities that foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Priority will be given to applicants who possess:
- Master’s degree in education, sports management, or related
- Certification as an Athletic Administrator or Texas
- 3-5 years of experience as an assistant or Athletic
- Knowledge of International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Familiarity with UIL policies and
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
- Coaching experience in various sports with supervisory
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal
- Knowledge of athletic program operations and K-12 education
- Valid Texas driver’s license and eligibility to work in the S.
- Completion of state-required fingerprinting and criminal background
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management:
- Develop and oversee the district’s athletic program, ensuring alignment with academic and community goals.
- Establish and verify eligibility criteria for student-
- Promote sportsmanship and student development through athletic
- Use evaluative data to continuously improve
Event Coordination:
- Schedule and coordinate all athletic events, including interscholastic games and non-school group
- Arrange transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town
- Oversee ticket sales, officials, field maintenance, and facility
- Coordinates with the Head of School for administrative supervision or all home
- Arrange bus transportation and scheduling for academic field
Budget and Resources:
- Prepare and manage the athletic department budget, ensuring fiscal
- Obtain quotes/bids for uniforms, equipment, and
- Maintain an accurate inventory and recommend replacement or disposal of outdated
- Coordinates the collection of registration fees and all applicable participant documentation.
- Remits all fees collected to the Accounting Department with proper backup and documentation according to established policies and procedures.
Personnel Management:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff and athletic department
- Conduct professional development and in-service
- Make recommendations regarding staffing, retention, and disciplinary
Student and Community Engagement:
- Foster strong school-community relationships by promoting athletic achievements and
- Support booster club activities and engage with parents, students, and community
- Ensure communication of updates through newsletters, websites, and
Compliance and Safety:
- Enforce all policies and regulations related to athletic participation, including eligibility and
- Coordinate safety protocols, including background checks for volunteers and
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal athletic
- Coordinates police presence at all home football games and other events as
Other Duties:
- Evaluate all athletic programs annually and recommend
- Support primary student sports opportunities and summer
- Assist eligible athletes in obtaining
- Supervise and ensure proper reporting of athletic competition
