JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing at least two employees, yard maintenance, inventory management, load staging, receiving, and shipping.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Available 5 days a week, 9 hours per day; OT is required when production/sales volume demand.
- Assuring no damaged items are sent or received.
- Comparing the picking list to the product to ensure the correct material is being used.
- Input information into the ERP system using a scan gun.
- Stage and inspect loads for shipment.
- Load and unload flatbed trailers and containers.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Operate and maintain a forklift license.
- Cycle counts on yard inventory.
- Keep all inventory 5s at all times.
- Collaborate with the S&OP manager to ensure daily loading requirements are met.
- Directly supervise a minimum of 2 employees daily.
- Hand stacking, wrapping, and strapping of molding.
- Efficiently process paperwork.
- Be able to communicate to management with any problems effectively.
- Staging and loading orders at the direction of the S&OP manager.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Cold and wet weather gear will be provided.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task
- Familiarity with safety programs
- Excellent eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to maneuver oversized material in tight areas using a multi-directional forklift.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience in a relevant field
- Valid Driver’s License
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Prolonged standing or in a stationary position
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may require hearing protection
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (footwear, hearing, and vision)
- High visibility vest or uniform.
- Ability to lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move or traverse the facilities
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances and in various environmental conditions
Salary
- $18.30-$22.60 with a $2.00 lead differential
Hours
- Monday through Friday, 6:00 am- 3:00 pm

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $18.30 to $22.60. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors, including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skill set. Westlake is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a comprehensive total compensation package, which also includes a full range of medical and other benefits.
