What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Westlake City Schools?
Position: Mechanic
Location: Transportation Department
Work Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year
Salary Range: $21.84 to $34.11 per hour
This position qualifies for family level insurance benefits and a board paid life insurance policy.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with diesel and gasoline engines.
- Knowledge/experience with Air Brake systems.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid CDL License, minimum Class B with School Bus and Passenger Endorsements.
- Less than 5 points on Drivers License abstract.
- Pass all components of a T-8 Physical Exam, with drug/alcohol testing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of school bus bodies/chassis.
- Must be familiar with Ohio State Highway Patrol bus inspection requirements.
