WESTLAKE WARRIOR | Senior Tax Accountant
Brief Descriptions:
DUTIES, TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to)
- Collaborate with tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state and local tax documents by creating, organizing and providing required information.
- Take charge in preparing tax provision schedules by analyzing current and consolidated earnings.
- Become a key contributor to innovative tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local tax regulations and offering actionable recommendations.
- Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state and local taxation issues.
- Remain up-to-date with pending and effective tax legislation by reviewing and interpreting new or revised laws to keep the Company compliant and competitive.
- Maintains compliance with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Revises procedures by developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for calculation of tax provisions.
- Simplify processes and drive efficiency by developing and optimizing procedures and worksheets for tax provision calculations.
- Identifies profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; calculating key ratios; identifying areas of tax savings.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Make an impact by supporting the organization’s goals through successful completion of related accounting tasks—your contributions matter.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES
- Attains a thorough understanding and application of GAAP.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.

- Attains highly analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to acclimate and work in a high pace environment.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel (Access is a plus).
- Knowledge of SQL and Macro is a plus.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Master’s degree in Taxation.
- CPA/CPA Candidate.
EXPERIENCE
- Three to five years of accounting with a specialization in taxation.
- PREFERRED: Three years in public accounting from Big Four or equivalent.
What’s the expected pay for this role?
- $90,000 to $115,000 per year
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
