Position Overview
We are seeking a tech-savvy and experienced Inventory Controller to manage our warehouse inventory, source & replenishment inventoried materials, and cultivate supplier relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance cost-efficiency while ensuring a steady supply of high-quality materials and integrating AI tools to optimize procurement decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Inventory Management – Source high-quality plumbing materials and tools, ensuring timely delivery of materials, optimal inventory levels that meet demand without overstocking, and conduct regular audits of inventory .
- Supplier Relations & Negotiation – Build and maintain strong relationships with our current and future suppliers, ability to negotiate pricing and manage contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
- Logistics and Supply Chain: Understanding of logistics principles, including shipping, receiving, and distribution processes. Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and best practices.
- Cost Optimization – Collaborate with finance and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and readiness.
- Record Keeping & Reporting – Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor interactions, and inventory levels. Provide regular reports on procurement trends and areas for improvement.
- Material Handling - Experience in safely and effectively operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement – Stay up-to-date on the latest procurement technologies and AI advancements relating to inventory management, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency of managing inventory.
- AI-Enabled Forecasting & Decision Making – Leverage predictive analytics tools to optimize purchasing schedules and enhance decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Inventory management, or related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Inventory Controller or in a similar role, preferably in the plumbing or construction industry.
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control, and cost management.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage analytics for procurement decisions.
- Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with AI tools, predictive analytics, and inventory management software is a strong plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, and solve problems effectively.
- Forklift Operation Certification.
