Summary :
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating outbound LTL (Less Than Truck Load) shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Core duties and responsibilities include the following-
Performs activities related to dispatching, routing, or tracking transportation vehicles. Performs investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
Promotes safe work activities by conducting safety audits and participating in company safety meetings / training sessions, and by wearing required PPE at all times.
Dispatches shipments to motor carriers using JD Edwards and TMS software are. Prepares necessary shipping documents for customer outbound shipments. Monitors and ensures shipments are confirmed picked up as scheduled. Monitors carrier performance and report carrier failures. Maintains productive working relationships with customer representatives, motor carriers, and company employees. Other duties as assigned.
Maintains and manages accurate records. Must be willing to drive a forklift when needed.
Previous experience with logistics or transportation management desired; familiarity with Excel, Word, JD Edwards and TMS systems a plus.
A C C O U N T A B I LI TY :
Accountable for keeping shipping costs within the budget for each order.
