WestLand is hiring a Fleet & Equipment Coordinator for our team in Tucson! This position is responsible for managing our fleet vehicles, maintaining equipment, coordinating equipment and other material needs for field crews, and giving direction to logistics leads in our offices across the western United States. The ideal candidate will be a leader who is, organized, an excellent communicator, committed to safety, and able to problem solve sudden or unforeseen issues as they arise.
What will I be doing?
- Leading the fleet & equipment logistics process for the business unit.
- Giving direction and guidance to logistics leads in smaller offices.
- Scheduling and coordinating equipment and vehicle use with field crews across Arizona and the western United States.
- Scheduling and coordinating equipment maintenance.
- Maintaining utilization logs and billings for consumable & non-consumable inventories.
- Ensuring that equipment meets or exceeds necessary safety standards.
- Identifying equipment needs and shortfalls and recommending solutions to address them.
- Managing purchase and sale of fleet vehicles.
- Traveling between offices (day trips primarily).
What qualifications are required for this role?
- High school diploma or GED is required. Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance planning and inventory management including use of excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with customer/client management especially related to communication via phone and email.
- Experience complying with safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems with little oversight
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and comfortable working in an environment where priorities may change quickly
- Experience with a field-based work environment preferred (ideally in archaeology or environmental consulting).
- Valid Driver's license.
The wage range for this position is $28.75 - $38.00/hour.
