Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Receptionist to join our team! Full-time position available with complete benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 403B with company match, and more. Hours are 8 hour shifts for both days and nights (night shift includes shift differential).
- Serve as the Receptionist for all of Westminster Canterbury, greeting residents, visitors and employees alike, always with a smiling, friendly face, determining what assistance and / or information can be provided to them, and seeing that they receive it in a timely and courteous fashion.
- Handle multiple telephone assemblage to include switchboard, front desk, security, paging, and elevator phones.
- Serve as information resource center regarding facility and activities.
- Refer messages to appropriate personnel.
- Monitor life safety systems and respond to emergencies and other contingencies in accordance with established facility procedures.
- Monitor surveillance camera and the SARA life safety system concurrent with responding to emergency alarms.
- Ensure all door alarms and security gate are appropriately secured with the assistance of security personnel.
- Perform multiple clerical responsibilities.
- Update current resident listing daily.
- Provide changes to resident database to reflect resident departures and arrivals when transferred within the community, on leave, or in hospital.
- Assist residents with ambulation and communication needs.
- Sell meal tickets and postage stamps, sort / distribute mail and publications, and receive and notify residents / employees of package deliveries.
- Balance cash and charge receipts and forward to Accounting.
- Monitor and ensure smooth flow of traffic under bridge area with assistance of security personnel.
- Participate in new employee training.
- Secure keys to storage building and independent living activity department.
- Assist van driver with scheduling of appointments and referrals.
- Maintain the schedule for company vehicles, checking keys in and out upon request.
- Provide daily AOC reports involving residents to designated administrative staff.
- Process and retrieve various computerized reports.
- Arrange guest room reservations for residents and family members.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and a positive, calm environment.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Educational requirements
Prior experience as a receptionist, switchboard operator, office or clerical experience preferred.
