What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development and Donor Relations position at Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge?
The Director of Development and Donor Relations will be responsible for major gifts and annual fundraising campaigns, WCBR Board relations, nurturing and maintaining donor relationships and communicating and advancing programs contributing to the WCBR Foundation’s growth and organizational mission.
\n- Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive fundraising program to augment and amplify overall philanthropic support by appealing to increasingly sophisticated donors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships and communications with members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, residents, donors, and volunteers.
- Prepare content and information for a variety of audiences and media to increase awareness and support of the organization’s philanthropic programs and development activities.
- Ensure the timely production of an annual report and along with other fundraising/development collateral and communications.
- Provide expertise in reporting, forecasting, and achieving philanthropic targets, projecting program expenditures, preparing and managing a departmental budget and effectively presenting and representing information.
- Provide consultative and collaborative support to departmental leaders to enhance philanthropic opportunities.
- Provide management oversight of development personnel.

- Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 3 - 7 years of progressive experience in philanthropic development, preferably with experience in health care, wellness, aging services, and/or senior living.
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
