What You'll Do as a Nutrition Care Team Leader at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay:
- Ensure excellent dining service by observing and directing staff while maintaining high performance standards.
- Provide training to new hires and NCPs needing additional support.
- Conduct and record audits (Lenz, temperature control, ppm, tray accuracy) to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead daily “Showtime” meetings and coach NCPs through Conversation Confirmers.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor on annual appraisals and formal documentation for performance issues.
- Act as Supervisor during their absence and fill in as an NCP when needed.
- Monitor staff compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines during meal service.
- Participate in the Performance Improvement Program and assist with month-end inventory.
- Demonstrate knowledge of therapeutic diets, proper food portioning, and infection control protocols.
- Ensure proper handling of food temperatures, sanitation, and chemical use.
- Complete assigned tasks on time and perform other duties as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma required; ServSafe Certification required.
- Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus, but not required.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications required.
- Basic math skills needed.
- Strong communication and comprehension skills.
- Ability to give and receive continuous verbal communication.
- Ability to focus on fine details amidst frequent interruptions.
- Capacity to remember multiple tasks and assignments over time.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to interact well with residents and staff.
- Sensitivity and interest in people, especially older adults.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
