What You Will Do:
Supervise Dining Services staff, including Nutrition Care Partners (NCPs) and Team Leaders, ensuring adherence to department and facility policies. Oversee proper meal assembly and service, as well as sanitation and safety in the Hoy Center and Chesapeake. Ensure safe and efficient resource use. Demonstrate leadership through clear communication and courteous behavior. Collaborate with the Nutrition Care Manager for hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of NCPs and Team Leaders. Make independent decisions related to staffing and resident satisfaction.
- Manage the Nutrition Care Partner Team, including staffing.
- Screen, interview, select, and train new team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions per policies.
- Maintain employee files documenting issues such as tardiness, absences, and counseling.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Prepare and submit payroll, monitor overtime, and create employee schedules within budget guidelines.
- Coordinate daily “Showtime” meetings, aligning with training and customer service goals.
- Attend Dining Services Manager and Nutrition Care Team Leadership meetings.
- Conduct monthly "Chat" sessions as assigned.
- Represent Dining Services positively throughout Westminster Canterbury, adhering to customer service standards.
- Conduct meal service audits to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Participate in Performance Improvement Programs and complete month-end inventory.
- Lead mandatory in-services and ensure compliance requirements are met, such as annual PPDs and COVID testing.
Demonstrate knowledge of:
- Therapeutic diets, food/condiments for each diet, and proper food portioning.
- Infection control and sanitation, including food temperatures, hand washing, glove use, and food item dating.
- Standard refrigerated food storage temperatures.
- Proper chemical usage and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Complete daily work assignments promptly, maintaining timeframes, and perform all other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
- Minimum two years of experience in a healthcare environment.
- ServSafe Certification required.
- Supervisory or leadership skills.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) within two years of employment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and CMS regulations.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft and Google applications.
- Proficiency in math concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, focus on fine details despite interruptions, and recall multiple tasks over time.
- Strong interpersonal skills, especially with older adults.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 25 pounds or more.
- Push and pull carts/objects.
- Stand for up to 8 consecutive hours.
- Maneuver independently and safely around the work area.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, blood, body tissue/fluids, and other hazardous materials.
