Description
The Maintenance Technician will provide skilled and semi-skilled repairs and preventive maintenance services to campus facilities.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 2PM to 11PM including occasional overtime; schedule subject to change.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Performing a variety of tasks relating to electrical work – troubleshooting, re-lamping, repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, ballasts, and covers.
- Performing a variety of tasks relating to carpentry work – installing shelves, bulletin boards, dispensers, pictures; repairing/replacing/installing building components such as walls, doors, ceilings, floors, hardware, partitions, shelving, bulletin boards, dispensers, minor exterior building repairs.
- Performing a variety of tasks relating to plumbing work – maintaining and repairing sinks, toilets, faucets, dispensers, fountains and pipes; clear obstructions from water, sewer lines, drains and sump pumps.
- Perform routine inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
- May perform a variety of tasks relating to Plant Operations work as needed; must maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Five years of experience responsible for general facilities maintenance.

- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide constituency, whether in person, over the phone, or electronically;
- Sincere dedication to exceptional customer service;
- Ability to produce high quality, accurate work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to successfully plan, design, and implement organized custodial programs;
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, safety procedures, and experience in the operation of commercial custodial equipment;
- Ability to organize and prioritize;
- Ability to lead a team in a professional manner through establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others;
- Experience with and ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information;
- Ability to use a computerized work management and event scheduling system to efficiently allocate resources;
- A valid driver’s license is required.
