What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outbound/Shipping position at Westminster Pet Products?
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing items for shipment, and securely wrapping pallets for delivery. Your work will play a key role in ensuring shipments are accurate, secure, and ready to meet customer deadlines. Assisting with the loading of assigned carriers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect order notes to fulfill deliveries.
- Assemble items on pallets according to shipment specifications and prepare them for transport.
- Securely wrap pallets using shrink wrap or stretch film to ensure stability during transit.
- Operate handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations
- Inspect pallets for accuracy, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Perform general warehouse duties as necessary
- Verify order accuracy against shipping documentation.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including inventory shelves and packing areas.
- Collaborate with shipping teams to meet daily quotas and delivery deadlines.
- Conduct quality checks on items for damage or discrepancies before shipping.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Abilities:

- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and shipping documentation.
- RF Scanner experience
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- The employee will be required to stand, walk, or work in a warehouse environment.
- Requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carry items up to 40 pounds
- Work areas may be cold rooms or open warehouse spaces
