Associate Director of Youth Ministry-Part Time
We are looking for an adventurous, fun, and talented educator who loves working with teens in a church setting. This is an in person opportunity. Average of 7 hours each week. 3 hours in person on Sundays -4:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Approximately 4 hours remote work weekly. This job is very manageable if looking for supplement income. Requires a planning meeting with Director of Youth 1 - 2 hours each month.
The part-time Associate Director of Youth Ministries, under the leadership of the Director of Youth Ministry, will share responsibility for fostering a community for middle and high school youth to grow in faith by fellowship, learning, serving, and worshipping together. They will build relationships with middle and high school youth and their families, and create a structure of programming and adult volunteers that helps youth develop their relationship with Jesus Christ, with their peers and the congregation.
Job Responsibilities
Associate Director of Youth Ministry Job Description-(Part-time 30 hours a month)
PURPOSE:Provide leadership for the Sunday evening youth program for young people in grades 6 – 12.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the Sunday night youth program most Sundays 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
· Help design a fun and developmentally appropriate program that helps youth feel a sense of belonging to their faith community.
· Create an engaging environment in which to explore and develop Christian beliefs and values.
· Provide opportunities for fellowship, service, worship, and prayer.
· Communicate regularly with youth and their parents about youth events and church events.
· Support and encourage youth to participate in the New Castle Presbytery youth events and retreats.
· Cultivate peer leadership among older youth to help and encourage younger youth to engage and grow in their faith.
· Attend the monthly meetings of the Christian Education Committee.
· Participate in the life of the congregation by attending worship and important church wide events.
· Uphold church policies and develop procedures to maintain a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe environment for the youth and the youth ministry team.
RELATIONSHIPS: Work with the Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry to create the activities and events for the Sunday evening youth program. Work with Youth Ministry Team Members to implement these activities.
REPORTS TO: Accountable to the Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry and the Christian Education Committee.
Position Qualifications: Prefer educational background and experience working with teens and candidates who have earned a college degree or are currently working on a degree.
