Marketing Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the Marketing Project Manager is an integral member of our Office of Marketing, Communications, and Events. This role touches multiple areas of our communications practice, and the ideal candidate for this role has experience managing multiple complex projects across marketing channels, with competing priorities and stakeholders. This role serves as a primary contact for campus partners like Admissions, Advancement, and other campus departments, liaising with and building strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders across the university. This role also serves as the operational lead for the Office of Marketing, Communications, and Events, tracking vendor relationships and budgets, and other critical administrative functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serving as a liaison between campus partners and the Office of Marketing, Communications, and Events, building strong working relationships with our campus “partners” built on mutual respect and trust.
- Project managing inbound marketing requests between our Creative Services, Marketing, and Events teams and campus partner contacts, overseeing every step of the project from inception to completion and delivery through a comprehensive creative briefing process.
- Developing and executing comprehensive project management strategies managing the scope, timeline, and budget of each project, ensuring brand standards and voice are met.
- Overseeing project management for campaigns, initiatives, and deliverables originated within the Office of Marketing, Communication, and Events.
- Managing administrative tasks for the Office of Marketing, Communications, and Events including meeting agendas and minutes, budget tracking, and office administration.
- Managing special projects assigned by the Senior Director of Communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a similar field.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a project management role.
- A proven track record of successfully managing multiple marketing projects with competing priorities and audiences, meeting deadlines and coming in on or under budget.
- A knack for juggling multiple projects at a time, gracefully managing competing priorities and keeping multiple trains running on time.
- Experience working in a marketing agency, or in-house at a large organization.
- Aptitude for forging strong working relationships with numerous campus “clients” from different backgrounds and areas of expertise, built on mutual respect and trust.
- Aptitude for multiple software systems including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, Asana, and Slack.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to provide professional feedback to creatives and clients.
- Self-starting attitude with an exceptional work ethic, able to proactively manage their own time.
- As this role is deeply embedded in campus client relationships, some nights and weekends throughout the year are required to attend important campus gatherings such as events, Commencement, and other vital touchpoints for client relationship building.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Project management certification preferred but not required.
- Experience working in higher education preferred but not required.
