Campus tours are often one of the first interactions prospective students and their families have with Westminster. Admissions tour guides play a key role in helping prospective students see themselves as a Westminster Griffin.
Admissions tour guides lead 1-hour tours of campus as part of the daily visit program through the Office of Admissions. This is their chance to preview our campus housing, classroom, and dining spaces as well as hear first-hand from a current student attending Westminster.
This job will help develop your communication skills while providing a space for you to share your Westminster experiences with future Griffins!

Admissions tour guides lead 1-hour tours of campus as part of the daily visit program through the Office of Admissions. This is their chance to preview our campus housing, classroom, and dining spaces as well as hear first-hand from a current student attending Westminster.
This job will help develop your communication skills while providing a space for you to share your Westminster experiences with future Griffins!
Responsibilities
- Provide one hour campus tours to our prospective students and their families and guests. Tours are currently scheduled Mon-Fri from 10-11AM and 1-2PM with the occasional monthly Saturday at various times.
- Assist the admissions team with event coverage (dates/times vary depending on specific event).
- Work with the Campus Visit Specialist to manage the admissions front desk (i.e., answering phone calls and providing general information, managing walk-ins, transferring calls to the appropriate offices).
- Assist the admissions department with outreach projects (social media, call campaigns, transcript calls, etc.)
- Required: Completed at least one semester of schooling at Westminster University
- Preferred: Previous work experience at Westminster University.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Skills
Student Employees in the role of Admissions Tour Guide will be able to take away the following skills from working in this position:
- Tour guides will grow in customer service as they will manage and be mentored in handling many different types of conversations with prospective students and their families.
- Tour guides will learn more about Slate, a Customer Relations Management tool, by using Projects, Queries, Portals, Events and Records.
- Tour guides will walk away from this position as stronger problem solvers/critical thinkers as they manage independent projects and work in a professional setting.
- Tour guides will become better organized as they will track their own schedules, create project timelines, and work together with Admissions staff.
- Tour guides will be trained on and expected to understand basic operations of Slate (our admissions CRM).
- Students will utilize Microsoft Teams as a tool for organization of our admissions student employee working group.
- Microsoft Suite and One Drive will be used for master scheduling.
- Students will communicate and learn from different offices and campus partners as part of their responsibilities.
