Scene Shop Technician - Performing Arts
Student Employment
Position Summary
A Scene Shop Technician works in the Performing Arts Scene Shop to support the technical elements of the music, theatre, and dance productions. This can include, carpentry, welding, lighting, sound, rigging, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
Cleaning & Organization : At all times help keep the performing arts facilities clean and organized.
Project Progress : At the direction of the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director, work on scenic, lighting, and sound projects as needed for upcoming music, theatre, and dance productions.
Safety : At all times adhere to safe practices when working with dangerous tools and equipment, and always voice safety concerns to supervisors. Safe practices include speaking up if you are not sure how to safely complete an assigned task.
Required Qualifications
- Independent worker
- Commitment to learning new technical skills
- Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
