Receptionist
Summary: To provide appropriate office support necessary to an effective operation using the philosophy, objectives, and policies of this facility. This support may include basic secretarial duties, clerical duties, receptionist duties and primary office record keeping.
Reports To: Administrator

Professional Qualifications:
1. A high school education or its equivalent desirable.
2. Some previous office experience is highly desirable.
3. Must possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies.
Required Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be mature and emotionally stable.
2. Must possess good organizational skills.
3. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
4. Should be capable of completing routine mathematical calculations.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Greet visitors, new residents and their families/representitives.
2. Receive and re-direct all incoming phone calls.
3. Maintain current list of residents by name and room number, clergy list, list of emergency numbers, on-call personnel, list of department extensions and names of key personnel and their extension numbers.
4. Sort all incoming business mail and direct to appropriate office.
5. Perform necessary data entry and filing.
6. Assist in maintaining all facility records in accordance with policies of the facility to include payroll, personnel files, accounts payable, resident records or other files as directed by the Administrator.
7. Maintain petty cash funds, including all record keeping, balancing, and requesting replenishing funds, disbursing according to procedure, if directed to do so.
8. Relay calls to or about residents to the charge nurse on the appropriate unit.
9. At the direction of the Administrator, maintain office files.
10. Assist in admissions, or as assigned, respond to inquiries and tour visitors throughout the facility.
11. Assist in obtaining admission information.
12. When assigned, assist in receiving resident or family complaints and report same to appropriate responsible person.
13. Responsible for residents’ personal funds, including following pertinent regulations, maintaining record keeping, balancing of accounts, and disbursing according to company procedures.
14. Receive, screen, and provide direction to residents, visitors, guests, sales representatives, etc.
15. Sell meal tickets to employees and visitors, if applicable. Submits total sales weekly to Business Office Manager for deposit.
16. May be trained in business office functions to assist the Business Office Manager.
17. Other duties as designated by the Business Office Manager and/or Administrator.
Physical, Sensory, and Communication Requirements:
1. Ability to read and write in English, ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel and support agencies and ability to remain calm under stress.
2. Bending, lifting, walking, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to discern colors, ability to hear and respond to pages.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
