11pm – 7am Wed-Sun (Mon & Tues off)
Job Description:
Responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel structure (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment), grounds, and swimming pool. Performs protective functions in a courteous manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct and disturbances to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Job Function:
- Stand, walk, or climb stairs for the majority of the shift.
- Maintain hotel interior beautification projects such as painting, and simple cosmetic repairs.
- Assist with guest calls regarding room issues (i.e. plumbing, battery/bulb changes, or insect issues in guest room).
- Ensure public space doors and storage areas are locked when not in use.
- Maintain hotel exterior property by completing outside property walks and picking up debris.
- Water outside plants, hose down pool deck and front/back patios.
- Respond to emergency conditions in a calm, rational and persuasive manner.
- Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
- Perform any related duties as requested by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Ability to effectively communicate with high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
- Ability to operate a computer, printer, copier, and telephone.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in hotel and act upon each accordingly.
- Skill in landscaping is a plus.
- Skill in the use of basic hand and electric tools and familiarity with parts and materials is required.
Education & Experience
High school or trade school graduate.
1-year prior job experience in hotel security and/or hotel maintenance is required.
Prior proven experience with basic hand and electrical tools.
