Assistant Equipment Technician
Job Description:
Westmoreland Country Club’s Assistant Equipment Technician will assist in all aspects of golf course workshop management, including but not limited to reel Maintenance, gasoline and diesel engines with tier four on board computer systems, sprayer technology, preventative equipment maintenance program, and equipment/parts fabrication . Technicians play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing an extensive equipment fleet. Technicians will work closely with the Equipment Technician and Golf Course Superintendent and Assistants Superintendents, often being delegated individual job responsibilities. Westmoreland will also work closely in obtaining his or her personal and professional needs in the Golf Course Industry.
Functions:
· Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects/failures in equipment including diesel-, electrical-, hydraulic-, and gasoline-powered, mowers and other mechanical equipment used in golf course maintenance work
· Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Equipment Technician
· Works with Equipment Technician in keeping a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment
· Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment
· Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected; and performs related tasks as required
· Spot checks equipment for performance on the course, makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services equipment prior to use
· Oversees shop maintenance area, maintaining a clean, safe service area and maintenance building
· Performs other duties as assigned
Employment Standards
· Skill in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and making of various types of repair tools
· Working knowledge of care/maintenance of gasoline/diesel engines
· Ability to read blueprints/manuals to assist in repairs
· Ability to move heavy objects – must be able to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment
· Ability to fabricate necessary items for equipment and equipment maneuverability
· Ability to communicate effectively and keep Maintenance records
· Candidate will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends
Experience & Education Requirements
Willing to train the right applicant
Valid Driver’s License
Authorized to work in the US
Wage/Benefits:
Flexible starting dates are available. Temporary on-site housing may be available with Direct TV cable and internet, kitchen and utensils, and laundry. Uniforms, pro shop discount, golfing privileges, Scholarship available with an hourly rate of $20 (DOE) per hour with overtime.
