What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Westmoreland Manor?
Westmoreland Manor is seeking a contracted Medical Director to coordinate the medical care provided by attending physicians, and to assist with development and implementation of resident care policies in accordance with CMS and PA DOH regulations. The Medical Director will be a physician that is appropriately licensed with the state as well as other boards of authority, i.e. DEA.
The Medical Director job duties will fluctuate in accordance to the laws and regulations set forth in Appendix PP: F841 Responsibilities of Medical Director and PA Nursing Home Regulations – PA Code: § 211.2. Medical director
The Medical Director will be responsible for the implementation of resident care policies, such as ensuring physicians and other practitioners adhere to facility policies on diagnosing and prescribing medications and intervening with a health care practitioner regarding medical care that is inconsistent with current professional standards of care.
The Medical Director is required to complete 4 hours annually of continuing medical education (CME) pertinent to the field of medical direction or post-acute and long-term care medicine – the Medical Director will be required to provide the nursing facility with CME certificates of completion to show this educational requirement was met.
