Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Analyst role. In this position you will ensure that quality is being maintained with all factors involved in testing and you will provide leadership in the efforts to build, roll out, test, manage and maintain quality assurance processes aligned to the strategic business initiatives. This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals who want a chance to work in a fast-paced environment and learn some new skills, all within the Latrobe/Youngstown area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficiency testing, determining the performance of individual laboratories for specific tests or measurements and using this to monitor laboratories’ continuing performance
- Conducts material testing using testing procedures/processes and using statistical analysis to determine metrics
- Provides metrics and analysis to support the management team in planning
- Simultaneously manages multiple projects and communicates the projects statuses to team members
- Determine quality improvement opportunities by collecting and reviewing data
- Communicate occasionally with select customers to relay information related to project status
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- US Citizenship required
- Associate degree in mathematics, physics or similar disciplines required
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Interest in statistics
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as other organizational/planning tools
- Knowledge in technical software
- Knowledge of root cause analysis
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions
