This is a great opportunity for motivated individuals. Experienced and entry level machine operators are welcome to apply. This is a chance to learn and work in a fast-paced environment in the Latrobe area. This role works on materials destined for critical applications in the Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Power Generation and Specialized Technology fields. Equipment includes CNC and conventional mills and lathes. Must be willing to work all shifts including partial weekends. Pay rate commensurate with experience.
Machinist Duties:
- View drawings and blueprints to understand what dimensions the materials need to be cut/shaped into.
- Think creatively to determine the most effective and efficient way to cut the material into the desired shape and size
- Select the proper materials and tools to get the job done, such as calipers, drills and mills
- Set up and program the cutting machines to make the part, using CAD and CNC software
- Inspect finished product to ensure accuracy
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be mechanically inclined
- CNC operation/programming experience is a plus
- Experience working with and understanding blueprints is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time
