DESCRIPTION OF POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Electrical Supervisor directs union electricians working multiple shifts performing routine and emergency electrical maintenance mine wide. The Electrical Supervisor ensures that all electrical distribution, dragline, facilities, conveyor, shop and office electrical systems are operational and maintained in compliance with MSHA and NEC regulations and manufacturer’s design. The Electrical Supervisor ensures all electrical inspections, testing and repairs are performed and recorded as required by MSHA.
*Ensure that all MSHA electrical requirements are met, and all Company Safety Policies are followed.
*Develop a weekly schedule for the electrical department personnel to meet the demands on the electrical workforce.
*Communicate performance expectations to electricians.
*Identify workforce performance issues including attendance and safe work practices.
*Correct performance deficiencies and recognize superior performance.
*Monitor proper operation and safety of electrical systems throughout the mine.
*Monitor and maintain PM program for draglines, tipples, conveyors and facilities.
*Coordinate work effort with those of other departments, especially the welding department to maximize machine maintenance and repair effectiveness and efficiency.
*Prioritize demands on the electrical workgroup and maintain MSDS files for the Electrical Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years electrical experience in mining or a related industry and /or a college degree in Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate must have a current MSHA surface electrical certification or successfully pass the MSHA Examination for certification. Previous experience in supervision with demonstrated knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications, specifically PeopleSoft or other maintenance management software and Microsoft standard office programs is preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with other supervisors, professionals, representatives and departmental staff from within and outside the company is required. Successful candidate will be required to obtain a State of Montana Mine Foreman Certificate.
Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of safety.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company standards to ensure insurability.

SALARY/GRADE/BENEFITS:
This is a Regular Full-Time position. The established grade for this position is Q or R depending upon qualifications and experience.
