What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Associate position at Westmoreland Museum of American Art?
The Westmoreland Museum of American Art seeks an enthusiastic individual to work in the important Event Associate role with the Visitor Experiences & Special Events Team. The Event Associate will help take our Museum event and outside rentals to the next level, providing exceptional customer service. The Event Associate works to create a positive and enjoyable experience for guests while ensuring Museum property is always kept safe, clean and properly maintained.
Responsibilities also include:
- Assisting with table and chair set up and breakdown
- Assisting with food and beverage preparation, setup and clean up
- Cleaning, recycling and ensuring a clean environment at all times
- Placing event décor, linens, table settings, etc.
- Greeting vendors and guests and directing them as appropriate
- Enforcing venue policies and procedures
- Answering questions and providing directions
- Following Museum safety procedures in performing all duties of the job
- Performing other duties as assigned
Candidates for this position must be flexible, reliable, observant, and possess strong customer service skills. Prior experience working with the public in a special event or hospitality setting is preferred. Individuals must be available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and some holidays. This position is Part-time, less than 20 hours per week.
