Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
- State of NH Teacher Certification in Elementary Education (1810 or 1811) or other approved certification status may be considered.
- The candidate must possess written and spoken fluency in the target language at the intermediate-high level, as determined by the AAPPL or Avant STAMP world language assessments, which are aligned to the National Council of State Supervisors of Foreign Language (NCSSFL) & American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) language proficiency benchmarks.

Job Summary:
The position involves creating a French immersion classroom environment dedicated to fostering the learning and personal growth of every student. Teachers are committed to providing equitable instruction in planned courses that address both content and language learning goals, following the One-Way, Heritage Language Immersion model.
To achieve this, the role encompasses establishing effective rapport and motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for a solid foundation in becoming responsible citizens based on each pupil's abilities. Positive relationships with parents and other staff members are integral to the position.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a culturally inclusive classroom environment that reflects and sustains the various cultural and linguistic identities of students.
- Instruct students using strategies conducive to dual-language immersion.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active and engaging learning that are aligned with the goals of the Dual Language Program.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, using relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction in English and Spanish.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students in English and Spanish and regularly use data to observe and evaluate student performance and development in both languages to adjust teaching strategies.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, and in harmony with these goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives and assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis to provide progress reports as required.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
- This is an affiliated (MEA) position under the Teacher Association negotiated contract, following the school calendar with additional workshop days.
