The Weston Public Schools is seeking a dynamic educator to serve as an Elementary Curriculum Coordinator. This is a full-time, school-year position, and reports to the Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 160 students (K-12).

- Work closely with the Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, principals, and teachers to implement and achieve the district’s curriculum goals and initiatives in all academic areas as well as social-emotional learning across all three elementary schools.
- Collaborate with the Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and principals in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional programs.
- Support all general and special educators, including ELEs, in the implementation and differentiation of all curriculum and instruction.
- Lead teachers and grade-level teams in the enrichment and refinement of the curriculum through an inclusive diversity lens and integrate a culturally responsive approach to teaching and learning.
- Lead teachers and students to address issues of equity that impact student learning.
- Analyze and report on assessment data, including MCAS data.
- Monitor student data as it relates to disproportionality in outcomes and lead efforts to address these gaps.
- Assist the principals in the data-team process and a multi-tiered model of support delivery that identifies student needs, establishes appropriate research-based interventions and enables the efficient use of school resources.
- Provide input on the coordination of intervention and progress monitoring for students who need support in reading, math, behavior, and social-emotional learning.
- Work with the Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to plan and implement professional development opportunities, including summer workshops.
- Model strong leadership qualities and exhibit actions that reflect the values of the Weston Public Schools.
- Stay current with educational research and share recommendations and ideas for improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Hold a valid Massachusetts license as an Elementary Teacher (1-6). Possession of an Administrative license preferred.
- Master’s degree in Education, Special Education or related field is required.
- At least eight years of effective, highly successful teaching experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents, administration and community members.
- Deep knowledge of state curriculum frameworks, instruction, interventions, and assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support instructional change in schools through the use of data and research-based practices.
- Experience and training with effective academic and behavioral interventions including school-wide, classroom and individual student behavior intervention plans, school improvement and cultural diversity.
- Experience providing and coordinating staff development activities and curriculum design.
- Experience working with district level and school based leadership teams to support school improvement decision-making.
- Other qualifications as deemed necessary.
The K-5 Curriculum Coordinator is a school-year role (184 days over a full school year), represented by the Weston Education Association, and entitled to the same salary schedule as teachers and other professional staff.
