Weston & Sampson is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer with 0–4 years of experience in site/civil development engineering. This position is available in our Manchester, NH, Portsmouth, NH, or Reading, MA office locations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in industrial equipment design associated with fleet vehicle maintenance operations and will gain hands-on experience across multidisciplinary projects.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in civil site development by designing and preparing plans for site projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Develop site layouts, grading & drainage plans, and drainage pipe networks while coordinating with geotechnical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines.
- Draft technical specifications and assist in construction administration tasks, including site visits, submittal reviews, RFI responses, and punch list preparation.
- Perform earthwork estimates, generate cut and fill diagrams, and summarize zoning & permitting requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support local permitting applications, including wetland permits, site plan permits, and zoning variances, and contribute to public presentations.
- Work with the Facilities Design Group to design and specify industrial equipment for fleet maintenance operations, such as vehicle washes, fuel systems, vehicle lifts, bridge cranes, and fluid distribution systems.
- Coordinate utility requirements for fleet maintenance equipment in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and architectural teams.
- Participate in construction administration, including pre-construction meetings for sub-slab utilities, fuel tank installation oversight, and final punch lists.
- Attend 3D model coordination meetings to ensure industrial equipment integration with facility designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar field).
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with HydroCAD stormwater modeling and stormwater infrastructure design.
- Willingness to be trained on how to use Revit and vertical construction processes.
- Willingness to train in industrial equipment design (prior experience not required).
- Experience in construction management/oversight is a plus.
- EIT certification required (PE license not required).
- Strong attention to detail and a motivation to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
