What are the responsibilities and job description for the Urban Forestry Specialist position at Weston & Sampson?
Weston & Sampson is looking for an Urban Forestry / Climate Resiliency specialist to be based out of one of our New England office locations. The ideal candidate will have 2 - 10 years of experience in environmental science specializing in urban forestry.
What you'll do :
- Provide comprehensive resilient stormwater and urban forest planning and design services to municipal clients
- Assist project managers with the preparation of engineering studies, concept designs, and master planning reports
- Visit job sites to perform project tasks including field tests, data gathering, field inspections, surveying and construction observation
- Attend public engagement events and help educate the public about the important role that nature-based solutions play in climate resilience
- Office work may include spatial data analysis, engineering design, data tabulation, tree / landscape planting plans, and will also prepare reports and proposals
- Some travel may be required.
