SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for the fabrication of custom earpieces based on ear impressions and specifications on order forms or box tags.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for the fabrication of custom earpieces based on ear impressions and specifications on order forms or box tags.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates molds of impressions (includes mixing plaster or using colloid).
- Uses appropriate equipment to trim, wax, and clean molds.
- Uses small tools, such as a grinding machine.
- Operates and maintains lab machinery as required, including drill, grinder, pneumatic injection gun, and small hand tools.
- Trims and wax impressions.
- Uses grind and flap sand monitors.
- Soldering.
- Assembles electronics into custom earpieces.
- Laser engraving.
- Maintains area logs and records as required.
- Participates in special projects as requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
- Temporary or contract agency, if used, will confirm, and maintain records of education and experience.
- The ability to follow detailed verbal and/or written instructions and drawings is required.
- Attention to detail.
- Work is generally performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels, as well as possible exposure to by-products or manufacturing including fumes and airborne particles.
- Able to sit/stand for long periods or alternate sitting and standing as needed.
- Constantly use hands or arms to perform tasks, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and grip small objects.
- Occasional stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. Handle tools that vibrate continuously.
- Able to communicate with others in person; talk and hear.
- Able to frequently lift or move up to 15 pounds, or team lift if the item is heavier than 15 pounds.
- Work near and with moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
