Job Description

Westover School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper to maintain and enhance the beauty and functionality of our campus grounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscaping, tree and hedge trimming, mulching, and equipment maintenance. In addition to these responsibilities, the Groundskeeper will assist with general facility-related tasks as needed, ensuring our campus remains well-kept and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

• Mow lawns using a zero-turn mower and other landscaping equipment.
• Prune and maintain fruit trees and hedges to promote healthy growth.
• Trim and shape hedges for a neat, well-manicured appearance.
• Apply mulch to garden beds and landscaped areas to promote plant health and maintain aesthetics.
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including fertilizing, weed control, planting, and pruning.
• Clean and maintain campus grounds, including the removal of leaves and debris.
• Remove snow and ice from walkways and other areas during winter months.
• Maintain and perform basic repairs on lawn and landscaping equipment.
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as required.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience in landscaping, tree pruning, hedge trimming, mulching, and general grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of proper techniques for fertilizing, weed control, planting, and pruning.
• Proficiency in using power equipment such as zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, and trimmers.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions, including hot summers and cold winters.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a pristine campus environment.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable performing physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and responsibly.
  
  

Pay

• Target range $24 -$27 hourly, based on experience.
