We are seeking a dedicated Financial Markets Applications Support Analyst to join our team in New York, ensuring seamless technology operations for Frankfurt and Europe. You will be responsible for providing first- and second-line pre-trade and post-trade application support and assisting in delivering BAU related activities for Westpac’s electronic pricing, trading and booking systems globally. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a customer-centric approach and the ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
You’ll be joining a highly supportive and collaborative International Technology team with international coverage during a period of growth for the WIB business. This is a newly created position in NY where you will work with local colleagues in NY, Sydney, and London.
You will have access to a comprehensive range of Westpac benefits including flexibility and various leave entitlements. Fixed compensation range for this position is between $100,000 – $140,000 depending on experience bonus and benefits.

- Responsibility for managing technical queries from front office users located across the New York, London and New Zealand offices.
- First responder to application issues and queries raised by stakeholders in NY.
- Able to triage and escalate urgent queries to relevant individuals and teams.
- Actively manage business expectations and ensure queries are resolved and are not left unattended.
- Key liaison between internal business, technical and operational stakeholders
- Dealing with Vendors, Service Providers and Strategic Partners
- Able to execute remedial steps (e.g., restarting processes) as per knowledge share article

What do I need?
Previous experience within Financial Markets required. Sales, Trading or Support experience.
Financial Markets knowledge
- Good business domain knowledge of Front Office foreign exchange and fixed income.
- Experience with post trade booking and settlement systems – Murex or Calypso.
- Knowledge of FX & fixed income third party trading platforms such as Bloomberg, ION, FX Connect, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, 360t, FXAll.
- Knowledge of business processes from front to back office, inclusive of finance, middle office, risk management, compliance and treasury.
- Understanding of the pre-and-post-trade pricing and trade flows including STP.
- Understanding of algorithmic trading and trade types would be beneficial.
- Exposure to pricing, trading and booking systems and management consoles
- Beneficial if you have any of the following skillsets: Bloomberg terminal, Broadway, Calypso, Murex, D3, ION, Kubernetes.
- Experience with incident and problem management and the ITIL process.
- Working knowledge of tooling and UAM (ServiceNow, CyberArk and Control-M)
- Operating Systems (Linux, Windows) and comfortable with SQL
- Experience in using application monitoring tools such as Elastic, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
