Job Summary
The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in facilitating the patient intake process within our healthcare facility. The Admissions Coordinator will ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate patient records.
Responsibilities
- Manage the admissions process for new patients, including scheduling appointments and collecting necessary documentation.
- Provide administrative support within the clinic, ensuring all patient information is accurately entered into electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, or Dentrix.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing excellent customer service to enhance patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding sensitive patient information and maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in verifying insurance coverage and eligibility for services, including understanding ICD-9 coding as necessary.
- Collaborate with medical staff to streamline admissions processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain organized records and files for all admissions, ensuring that all documentation is complete and up to date.
Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative role office is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks is essential.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive information responsibly.
