Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to develop engaging content across various formats, including training materials, curriculum guides, and project documentation. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts to produce high-quality written materials that meet the needs of our audience.
This position is with the Westport Day School in Wilton, CT. Our new initiative, The Executive Function Project is designed to provide curriculum, textbooks, workbooks, and related classroom materials. Curriculum writers will attend (2) 2 hour meetings per week in Wilton, CT at the Westport Day School (3-5pm M/W). Curriculum meetings will be designed to brainstorm projects, set deadlines, work on curriculum projects, edit and provide feedback to teammates, in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Duties
- Develop and write clear, concise, and engaging content for training programs, e-learning modules, and classroom materials.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand content requirements and objectives.
- Utilize tools such as Canva, Outlook/Office 365, the school's social media platforms, and more
- Create instructional materials that adhere to The Executive Function Project's standards for excellence.
- Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Conduct research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
- Revise and edit materials based on feedback from team members and stakeholders.
- Assist in curriculum development by providing insights on instructional design best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in content development, particularly in educational or training contexts.
- Familiarity with project management principles to effectively coordinate writing assignments.
- Proficiency in using a variety of platforms and tools for creating educational content.
- Experience with curriculum development and understanding of instructional design methodologies.
- Above average written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and grade levels.
- Previous experience working within an LMS environment is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
