Job Description:
The Director of Assisted Living oversees the health and well-being of each resident, including assessments, medication management, and daily living activities. This position is responsible for hiring and supervising nursing staff in the assisted living unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Post-Acute Services and/or Director of Health Services to ensure seamless clinical services across the campus.
- Ensure each resident's pre-admission screen is completed before move-in and monitor their condition regularly.
- Conduct Lifestyle and Care Needs Assessments to determine residents' medical and personal care requirements.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and dining.
- Update CareTracker information promptly and maintain accurate documentation.
- Lead and assist in developing service plans in conjunction with residents, families, and caregivers.
- Facilitate regular resident meetings and address feedback and concerns in a timely manner.
- Coordinate pharmacy and medication needs, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies.
- Serve as liaison between residents, healthcare providers, family members, and referral sources.
- Supervise and participate in treatment regimens per physician orders.
- Maintain resident medical records and chart information according to state guidelines.
- Train Nursing Assistants in activities of daily living assistance, pharmacy policies, infection control, dietary issues, and other relevant topics.
- Support the interview and selection process for Nursing Assistants and licensed staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Post-Acute Services and/or Director of Health Services in hiring, recruitment, and training of clinical staff.
- Ensure employees meet CPR/First Aid training requirements and adhere to state regulations and company policies.
- Organize and direct marketing programs, execute strategies to build alliances with key referral sources, and distribute campus information.
- Provide weekend management coverage and on-call duties as needed.
- Attend annual company in-service training programs and participate in various committees as required.
Requirements:
- LPN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current unencumbered LPN license in the state of practice.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Valid drivers' license and ability to operate a large van/bus vehicle.
