What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roaster position at Westrock Coffee?
We are currently recruiting for a Roaster Operator for our Manufacturing operation.
- Prepare Daily Schedule Silo Requirements Report, which details the pounds required for the current day's roasting.
- Prioritize the roasts each day based on availability of green coffee beans in the super sacks and silos.
- Program roasts into the computer system.
- Perform color and moisture tests (and record results) on roasted coffee beans.
- Adjust roast temperature accordingly if roasted beans are out of specification.
- Modify Production Scheduling Report to accommodate add-ons (rush orders) or samples.
- Communicate with others on progress of daily schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Prior Roasting experience or completed Roaster training program strongly preferred
- Ability to operate machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Good decision making skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills, math skills and computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, pressure-filled environment
- Excellent safety, quality and attendance record.
