We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team as an Optician and Optometric Technician. This position will work in conjunction with the doctor and team to facilitate, support, and maintain optimum patient care. Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative. This position requires both clinical and opticianry skills, and is responsible for collecting and inputting clinical data necessary for the visual health and performance of the patient, chairside assistance, and fulfillment of patients’ contact lenses and eyeglasses prescriptions in dispensary. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible eye care and eyewear products.
Responsibilities:
- Eyewear Fitting and Dispensing: Assist patients in selecting the right eyeglasses, lenses, and frames based on their needs and preferences.
- Lens Adjustments & Repairs: Measure, adjust, and repair eyewear to ensure a proper and comfortable fit.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on eyewear options, lens care, and proper usage.
- Collaboration with Optometrists/Physicians: Work closely with optometrists to ensure optimal patient care and treatment.
- Inventory Management: Track eyewear inventory, place orders for lenses and frames, and maintain an organized optical retail area.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with patients and ensuring they feel informed and valued.
- General Office Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, processing payments, and helping patients with insurance benefit inquiries.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No experience necessary—willing to train the right candidate
- Strong sales skills with the ability to promote eyewear products and services effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
