Dental Hygiene Specialist

The Dental Hygienist is a licensed primary oral health care professional whose goal is to assist Westside Family Health patients in achieving and maintaining optimum oral health. The responsibilities of this position include:

1. Examining and documenting oral conditions through the use of clerical measurement, radiographs, and other assessment methods.
2. Performing thorough removal of hard and soft deposits with ultrasonic/hand instrumentation and polishing of supra gingival crowns.
3. Reviewing and recording patient medical histories.
4. Developing individualized oral hygiene programs for home care.
5. Educating patients, the general public, and special population groups particularly children regarding oral health.
6. Maintaining inventory of dental hygiene supplies.
