What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Hygiene Specialist position at Westside Family Healthcare Inc?
The Dental Hygienist is a licensed primary oral health care professional whose goal is to assist Westside Family Health patients in achieving and maintaining optimum oral health. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Examining and documenting oral conditions through the use of clerical measurement, radiographs, and other assessment methods.
- Performing thorough removal of hard and soft deposits with ultrasonic/hand instrumentation and polishing of supra gingival crowns.
- Reviewing and recording patient medical histories.
- Developing individualized oral hygiene programs for home care.
- Educating patients, the general public, and special population groups particularly children regarding oral health.
- Maintaining inventory of dental hygiene supplies.
