DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Order supplies and medications
Market to potential patients via phone and in person
Assist billing team with billing concerns
Ensure accurate and timely documentation into the EMR for all patient care, i.e. patient interview and history, vital signs, treatments, test results
Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
Performs lab tests including preparing specimen, testing, and recording results. Ensures CLIA/OSHA compliance standards are met.
Performs EKGs
Prepares and administers medications and immunizations per provider order
Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures
Uses CPR skills when necessary
Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilizes instruments
Assist patients in the scheduling of diagnostic tests, outpatient services and hospital admissions.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
Greets patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
Screen calls, arranges appointments and referrals.
Prepares new records, files, scans and maintains records.
Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms.
Some transcription of medical notes.
Performs billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting cash payments, posting and balancing daily sheets of transactions, bank deposits
Gives instructions to patients as instructed by provider.
Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, vision, height, and weight
Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or provider.
Assists in lab and x‑ray procedures under the supervision of provider and for which training has been given
Processes, codes, and completes insurance claims forms
Uses communication skills with proper medical terminology
Performs computer skills in patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, accounts
Purchases and maintains supplies and equipment
Performs other position related duties as assigned
Focus on attracting and retaining patients with superb customer service skills
Follows evidence based practice and maintaining quality work
Supports clinic goals and objectives
Explains services, benefits, and fees to patients
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous medical receptionist experience or background in general office work preferred.
Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies.
Learns quickly from oral and written instructions.
Ability to keep financial records and performs mathematical tasks.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Understand the ethics of confidentiality.
Good organization skills and good health.
Possesses willingness to accept orders and to perform repetitive tasks.
Has awareness of the need for discretion and keeping confident matters relating to the patients and their problems.
Previously demonstrated performance in a medical environment
One (1) to five (5) years of experience preferred
Phlebotomy and lab experience required
Current CPR certification required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written) required
PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Able to work well under pressure.
Ability to communicate well with people in personal contacts and on the phone.
OTHER SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the provider or office manager.

3. Ability to communicate and relate well with providers and other office staff.
4. Must be able to follow direction well from providers, nurse and manager.
OTHER SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
1. As required by provider, individual is expected to attend some classes that educate and improve medical service
2. Must be willing to serve emergency situations during off hours if directed by provider. May be requested to substitute for other office responsibilities of receptionist. Any other assigned duties by provider or manager.
