Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Adventure Camp Counselors to join our team for an enriching summer camp experience. The Adventure Camp Counselor plays a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. This position requires individuals who are passionate about working with youth and have the ability to inspire and educate through various activities. Counselors will be responsible for supervising high school aged campers, leading them on week-long, off-camp, adventure treks, ensuring that each child has a memorable experience.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with campers in a variety of activities including rock climbing, rafting and canoeing, and other programed activities.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth among campers.
- Implement pre-programed daily schedules that include, regular camping skills, recreational activities, and transportation.
- Communicate effectively with the Assistant Camp Director regarding groups status and any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure the safety of all campers by adhering to camp safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all campers.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students or children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
- Skills in recreational activities, such as rick climbing, camping, canoeing or other similar activities preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with campers and camp leadership.
- A passion for mentoring youth and fostering their growth through engaging experiences is crucial.
- Must be able at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain Lifeguard certification (we will provide training)
- Must have a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check
