Position Summary: This individual supervises pool lifeguards and manages the routine daily operations of the Westview pool.
This is a seasonal position. Candidates must be able to start by no later than May 27th and must be available through August 7th. The schedule for this position will be Sunday - Thursday.
General Responsibilities:
- The Pool Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the pool lifeguard team, ensuring the safety of all pool guests, and maintaining proper pool operations. This role includes monitoring lifeguard performance, enforcing safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and managing pool chemical levels to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The supervisor will also support staff training, provide feedback, and facility maintenance to create a safe and healthy environment for all guests.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the lifeguard team, ensuring they remain attentive, professional, and responsive to all safety concerns.
- Monitor pool activities, enforce safety rules, and respond swiftly to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid, CPR, or AED as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of rescue equipment, pool facilities, and water quality to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Test and adjust pool chemical levels, including chlorine and pH levels, to maintain water quality and comply with local regulations.
- Maintain records of chemical readings, incidents, and equipment maintenance, ensuring proper documentation.
- Provide training and ongoing development for lifeguards, including safety drills and emergency response protocols.
- Assist with scheduling lifeguards, ensuring adequate coverage during all operating hours.
- Collaborate with management on facility improvements, safety policies, and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid lifeguard certification (e.g., American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years actively working as a lifeguard in an aquatic facility.
- Experience in pool upkeep and maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum age 18 years old.
