Role and Responsibilities
The primary job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, ensuring sufficient quantity and HIGH-QUALITY food preparation and production, while maintaining compliance with State and Federal Health Regulations.
Specific duties include, responsible for producing and assisting in the food preparation. Ensures all State and Federal Food Preparation Regulations are adhered to in all aspects of food handling (proper storage, preparation, cleaning and disposal), creating menus, maintaining low waste while ensuring sufficient quantity, variety and quality of food, maintaining inventory for the Galley. Other duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the Head Cook, with overall supervision by the Plant Manager.
Qualified applicants must successfully pass a post-offer conditional Drug Screen. Must have a current TB test. Must show competence in speaking, reading and writing in the English language, and follow instructions. Must have strong computer skills. Must possess or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handling card and must possess food safety manager certificate. Ideal candidates will have verifiable food handling and cooking experience. 2 years of prior experience is preferred. Must be able to multi-task, have strong organizational and people skills, and have the ability to identify, correct, and report safety hazards. Must be willing to live and work in a multi-cultural team environment.
STARTING WAGE: TBD - STATUS: FTH Full Time, Hourly – Housing and Meals provided, Transportation to/from Point of Hire – Medical and 401(k) benefits upon eligibility WSI has a Zero Tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
