About the role
- Westwin Elements is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support the development and construction of America’s first nickel refinery. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for construction, equipment, and operational expenses, ensuring financial accuracy and cost efficiency. The Senior Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and construction professionals to develop and refine project budgets.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost estimates for all phases of the refinery project, including construction, site development, infrastructure, equipment procurement, and operational expenses.
- Analyze project specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents to determine scope, materials, labor, and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate and competitive cost assessments.
- Research and evaluate vendor quotes, labor costs, material pricing, and subcontractor estimates to optimize cost efficiency.
- Identify potential construction-related risks, provide contingency recommendations, and adjust estimates accordingly.
- Track and monitor cost changes throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring estimates remain aligned with real-time expenses.
- Support contract negotiations and bid evaluations, providing detailed cost breakdowns and analysis.
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and financial models to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 7 years of estimating experience in construction, industrial, mining, refining, or heavy manufacturing projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, construction materials, labor costs, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Estimating, HCSS, or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale infrastructure or industrial construction projects preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
The pay range for this role is:
180,000 - 190,000 USD per year(Lawton Plant)
