About The Role
- Westwin Elements is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Affairs Intern to support our Public Affairs and Government Affairs team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in public policy, media relations, and corporate communications. The ideal candidate must be reliable, trustworthy, and organized, with strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word platforms.
- Work closely with the Public Affairs and Government Affairs team on key initiatives.
- Conduct policy and industry research to support legislative and regulatory efforts.
- Draft press releases, media statements, and external communications.
- Take detailed notes during meetings and assist in summarizing key points for internal use.
- Support the Public Affairs team in the development of external documents and reports.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to assist in designing graphics and outreach materials.
- Assist with social media content, newsletters, and public outreach campaigns.
- Maintain organization of key public affairs documents and digital files.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Affairs, Political Science, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in public relations, government affairs, or policy research is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in public affairs, media relations, and policy research.
