Wood Worker

Westwind Wood Specialties is a rapidly growing manufacturer in the Custom Cabinet Component industry. We are now accepting applications to fill full and part time positions on our production team. The starting pay ranges from $13 -$17 an hour, based on experience.

Production team duties may include machine operation, assembly of parts and various other duties involved with cabinet component production.

Basic Requirements

• Applicants must be able to stand and walk around for the entire 10 hour shift

• Applicants must be able to lift 5 - 10 pounds repeatedly throughout the entire shift

• Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift

• Applicants must be able to work in an environment where minimal wood dust will be present

• Applicants must have reliable transportation ensuring prompt arrival each day.

• Most successful applicants will be able to read a tape measure well

• Most successful applicants will have some past success in the construction or labor trades

• Most successful applicants will work well with others and be a team player with a positive attitude

• Most successful applicants have an eye for detail and can discern whether a particular part meets our quality standards

• Most successful applicants like to work with their hands and get satisfaction out of producing quality products efficiently

• Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus

Selected Details of the Position

• 4 Day Work Week - Regular production hours are 10 hours/day, Monday through Thursday starting at 6:45 am and ending at 5:15 pm - Regular 3 day weekends are appreciated by our production team.

• Occasional Overtime - Periodically, Westwind will work Fridays depending on the workload.

• Indoor work - Many of our production teammates come from the construction industry. When compared to working outside, the consistent hours and controlled environment is very much appreciated.

• Compensation - Starting pay for entry level workers is $13.00 per hour. Related work experience may increase the starting wage. Our pay scales vary depending upon the position. Position rates range from $13.00 to $26.00 per hour. Westwind doesn't have scheduled pay increases just for being here a certain number of months, but there are ample opportunities for increases for those who consistently meet the expectation of the position.
