Ministry Area: Next Gen
Location: Bush Lake
Reports to: Campus Pastor

Ministry Area Purpose: The Next Generation Ministry exists to partner with parents to help children and students (birth through college) become followers of Jesus and know they are loved by God, empowered by His Spirit, and called to share Jesus with the world around them.
Role: To lead, support, and execute Kids Ministry at the Bush Lake Campus.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute Kids Ministry programs
- Recruit, train, equip, and celebrate Student Ministry volunteers
- Assist with Elementary curriculum development and implementation
- Project manage Kids Ministry events (VBS, Family Christmas Eve, etc.)
- Assist in the development of the annual ministry plan through creation of objectives and budget and oversee the responsible stewarding of those resources
- Maintain safety and security policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Student Ministry to create and apply a Next Generation (Next Gen) strategy, forming a continuous and cross-linked whole that prepares the church’s next generation to follow Jesus
- Support Bush Lake team and overall projects
- Foster relationships with kids and families through contact work
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
- Align to and live out the Westwood Staff Culture: Head High, Heart Soft, Arms Linked, Feet Forward
Requirements
- Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus
- Experience with planning events
- A significant understanding of God’s Word and agreement with Westwood’s vision, values, and beliefs
- Desire and ability to actively engage children and effectively interact with volunteers and parents
- Ability to attract, equip, resource, and mobilize a diverse group of volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Gifted in leadership, administration, and teaching
- Must have a teachable spirit
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large
- Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith
- Remain a member in good standing of Westwood Community Church
