Position: Clubhouse Manager
Job summary
Responsible for overseeing operations of the Locker Rooms, Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Security departments. Collaborates with department directors to ensure seamless operations, outstanding member and guest satisfaction, and adherence to the club's high standards. Works closely with the Assistant General Manager to develop and execute club functions, manage budgets, hire and train staff, and apply relevant marketing principles to exceed the expectations of club members and guests.
Job Task
Operations Management
· Approves and oversees plans, budgets, staffing, and general operating procedures for Locker Rooms, Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Security departments.
· Monitors internal cost control procedures to ensure efficiency and budget adherence.
· Inspects facilities to ensure safety, sanitation, energy management, and preventive maintenance standards are consistently met.
· Reviews and approves external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for food and beverage operations.
Event Planning and Execution
· Meets with members and staff to plan and execute club events.
· Approves menus proposed by the Executive Chef for club events and collaborates to enhance member and guest satisfaction.
· Assists in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and banquet functions.
· Develops creative promotions for club functions in dining rooms and lounges.
Staff Development and Leadership
· Coordinates orientation and training programs for new staff and professional development for experienced staff.
· Approves staffing schedules and job descriptions/specifications for departmental roles.
· Manages the long-range staffing needs of the department.
· Establishes quality and quantity output standards for personnel in all positions.
Member and Guest Relations
· Maintains contact with members to ensure maximum satisfaction and handles member and guest complaints promptly.
· Greets guests and oversees service to ensure a positive experience.
· Helps develop wine lists and wine sales promotions for bottle and glass service.
Financial Oversight
· Assists the Assistant General Manager in developing and implementing long-range and annual plans, operating reports, forecasts, and budgets.
· Maintains responsibility for sales, expenses, and profit goals outlined in the Food and Beverage Department’s operating plans.
· Monitors the ordering and receiving of products and supplies to ensure proper quantity and price.
Compliance and Standards
· Ensures compliance with all legal requirements, including wage and hour laws and federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
· Research new products and evaluate cost/profit benefits.
· Develops and enforces standard operating procedures to minimize waste and maintain high standards for food and beverage services.
Collaboration and Communication
· Consults regularly with the Executive Chef and Purchasing Agent to ensure high guest satisfaction at minimal cost.
· Serves as an ad-hoc member of appropriate club committees and provides input on operational decisions.
Qualifications for Clubhouse Manager
Education and Experience
· A degree in Hospitality Management is a great asset, but we equally value relevant experience and will consider candidates with either or both.
· Minimum of 4 years of progressive management experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or private club operations.
· Proven track record of successfully managing teams and exceeding member and guest expectations.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills
· Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with members, guests, and staff.
· Ability to handle member and guest concerns with professionalism and discretion.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in budgeting, financial planning, and operational cost control.
· Knowledge of food and beverage operations, event planning, and facility management.
· Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations, including those related to labor and alcoholic beverages.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
· Commitment to delivering exceptional member and guest service.
· Creative problem solver with a proactive and hands-on approach to challenges.
Certifications (Preferred)
· Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation or actively working toward it.
· Food Safety Certification (ServSafe).
