JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Department takes care of the general maintenance of Westwood Country Club and performs outdoors maintenance functions. Works in assigned areas and takes direction from the House and Grounds Director and / or the Assistant House and Ground Management team. This is a non-exempt, hourly position; must be available to workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays and have a flexible schedule.
Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*
- Receives direction from the House & Grounds Management team to maintain the Club including the Main Club House, Tennis Center, Pool, Marina and entire property.
- Responsible for Landscaping duties such as but not limited to lawn mowing/maintenance, planting flowers, weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, tree trimming, digging, etc.; clean, fill and maintain water jugs, leaf blowing and clean / maintain all areas (parking lot, tennis courts, pool, marina, etc.) empty trash receptacles, remove spider /cobwebs.
- Execute MaintainX work orders and program.
- Painting, dry wall repair, operation of outdoor power equipment, power/pressure washing, carpentry, basic landscape plumbing, sanding / grinding and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Follows all safety protocols.
- Performs other duties as directed by the House and Grounds Director management team.
Additional Duties:
- Laundry, Security, Housekeeping duties and / or landscaping and groundskeeping responsibilities as needed.
- Janitorial/housekeeping responsibilities; clean / vacuum / sweep / mop floors, windows, dust as needed.
- Deliver furniture according to BEO request.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 1 plus years of experience/knowledge preferred; bilingual English/Spanish desirable. Experience using small personal tools and power tools, able to drive a golf cart.
Physical Demands:
This position requires standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, lifting, holding/carrying, twisting/turning, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to routinely lift 50 pounds or more regularly. Also requires the ability to climb a 15-foot extension ladder and work while scaffolding; able to perform the necessary job functions in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time (indoor/outdoor).
Work Environment:
Tasks are performed with exposure to diverse environmental and safety conditions. The position will require the use of equipment that will present noise levels and safety concerns in the workplace which may be excessive and will require, from time to time, the use of ear plugs and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
