What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Lifeguard (Opportunities for Swim Coaching) position at Westwood Country Club?
Make a splash this summer at Westwood Country Club! We’re looking for enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Lifeguards. This position is perfect for candidates who enjoy keeping swimmers safe while also having the opportunity to assist with swim lessons and coaching in a fun and energetic environment.
What You’ll Do:
Lifeguard Duties:
- Ensure the safety of members and guests by enforcing pool rules and responding to emergencies.
- Monitor pool areas, including the Olympicsize swimming pool, Kiddie Pool, and AdultOnly section.
- Assist with pool maintenance and cleanliness.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Help with poolside events like DiveIn Movie Nights, Watermelon Races, and the Goldfish Dive!
If interested, lifeguards are also able to participate in coaching.
Coaching Duties:
- Lead individual and group swim lessons for all ages.
- Assist with coaching the Westwood Dolphins Swim Team in daily practices and weekly meets.
- Foster a fun and encouraging learning environment.
- Communicate with parents and swimmers about progress and events.
- Help organize friendly competitions and teambuilding activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Current Lifeguard Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced, outdoor environment.
- Positive attitude and a passion for summer fun!
